Free Online PDF Tools — Merge, Compress, Convert & More

Online application forms often ask for a photo in a fixed size, such as 35 × 45 mm or 2 × 2 inches, and under a file-size limit such as 20 KB, 50 KB or 1 MB. This tool does both: choose a size preset, adjust the crop box, pick a target file size, and download a JPG that fits.

Everything happens inside your browser. Your photo is never uploaded to any server. The target size is treated as a maximum: the tool finds the best quality that stays under it, and if a photo is already at its best quality below the target, it tells you rather than padding the file.

Frequently asked questions

Will the photo meet my country's passport rules?

This tool sets the size and file size only. It does not check the background colour, head size, lighting or expression, so please check the rules of the office you are applying to.

Why is my file smaller than the target?

A file can only grow by adding real detail. When the photo is already at its best quality below the target, a larger file would not look any better, so the tool does not inflate it.

What if the target is very small, like 10 KB?

The tool first lowers the JPG quality and, if that is not enough, makes the picture's pixel size smaller. It tells you when it had to do that.
